Can You File a Claim When a Hit-and-Run Driver Isn’t Found in Manchester, NH?
New Hampshire law allows injured cyclists and e-bike riders to pursue compensation through their own uninsured motorist coverage when a hit-and-run driver can’t be identified, even if the at-fault vehicle is never located.
E-bike riders struck by larger vehicles usually face serious lower-body fractures, road rash, head trauma, and injuries that require extended time away from work. Beyond the immediate medical bills, many riders deal with follow-up surgeries, physical therapy, and lost wages that stretch on for months after the initial crash.
If one of the parties involved flees the scene, to prove what happened will likely depend on physical evidence at the scene, any nearby surveillance or dashcam footage, and witness accounts collected before they fade.
Insurance companies handling uninsured motorist claims tend to scrutinize these details closely, and a Manchester personal injury attorney can help make sure that evidence is gathered and preserved while it’s still available, then guide a rider through the claims process from there.
New Hampshire also gives injured riders up to three years under the state’s statute of limitations to file a personal injury lawsuit, though that timeline can be affected by whether the fleeing driver is eventually identified.
