5 Injured in Rollover Crash on Belmont St in Manchester, NH

Sandy Olds

Manchester, NH (September 8, 2026) – Five people, including a child, were injured after two cars collided at Hanover Street and Belmont Street in Manchester on Monday, September 7. One car carried four people and rolled over after the collision.

As the Manchester Police reported, the 24-year-old woman driving that car was ejected, while a child became trapped inside. Both were taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Two other women in their 20s climbed from the vehicle without assistance. They had minor injuries, while the 49-year-old man driving the other car was also taken to a hospital.

Investigators are still determining the cause of the accident.

Our thoughts are with everyone hurt as they recover.

How Comparative Negligence Can Affect a Rollover Crash Claim in Manchester, NH

Comparative negligence can affect how much compensation a person may recover after a rollover crash. New Hampshire follows a modified comparative fault rule under RSA 507:7-d. An injured person may recover damages when their fault is not greater than the fault of the defendant or defendants combined. However, the damages awarded are reduced in proportion to the injured person’s percentage of fault.

For example, if a driver has $100,000 in damages and is found 20% responsible for a rollover crash, the recoverable damages could be reduced to $80,000. If the driver is found 51% responsible, recovery would generally be barred because the driver’s fault is greater than the combined fault of the defendants. A person found 50% responsible can still recover, with the award reduced by 50%.

Evidence such as crash reports, photographs, witness statements, traffic-camera footage, vehicle damage, and roadway conditions may help establish how fault should be divided. A person involved in a Manchester rollover accident should understand how comparative negligence could affect a potential personal injury claim before accepting a settlement or pursuing legal action.

To sort through these challenges, many victims rely on a Manchester car accident lawyer to determine where a claim can realistically go.
