How Insurance Gaps Affect Injury Claims in Manchester, NH
New Hampshire is unusual among states because it does not require most drivers to carry auto liability insurance. Drivers are expected to show financial responsibility after an accident, with minimum limits of $25,000 per person, $50,000 per incident of injury to multiple people, and $25,000 for property damage, but a driver with no policy may have few assets to cover an injury claim.
That is why a person’s own coverage can matter. New Hampshire insurers must make uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage available, and whether a policy includes it, and at what limits, depends on the policy itself. Medical payments coverage, if a policy has it, may help with early bills while liability is sorted out, and the declarations page shows what is in place.
In these cases, a Manchester car accident attorney can review a claim and look at every policy that may apply, including the injured person’s own, and explain how limits and exclusions could affect options.
